Kiddin, a Krezlonian engineer, speaks the language of machines, and he is awed by Criteria’s lifelike complexity. Criteria, having personality and learning as part of her mental framework, at first resists Kiddin’s ability to contain her, then slowly begins to learn to trust him, and then Kiddin is able to trust her and let her free as an ally. Kiddin and Criteria have an inkling of romance, the depth of which is not known to the audience.

Extended Description
Criteria can take physical form in up to 5 identical nano-bot constructed bodies equidistant around the outside of the vault, and she can dissolve and reform at will within a certain radius. Criteria’s designers left her with an imprint of their deductive reasoning that, in the event that they should perish, she would remain to adapt to cunning trespassers. Criteria is capable of disintegrating anyone who attempts to enter the vault without meeting her criteria. She is not biological, and cannot be conquered by organismic disease or microbes, including Wro’s consciousness. Criteria takes a humanoid form and does not attack those who incorrectly answer her riddle. After 3 incorrect guesses, she disappears into alert dormancy for a day.
